About US

We rescue thousands of pounds yearly!

  • Vegetables and Fruits

  • Breads

  • Bakery

  • Clothing

  • Durable goods/housewares

  • Books

How do we accomplish this?

State-registered as a non-profit cooperative food bank, our organization functions completely through volunteer hours from our members. Members invest their time knowing they receive a return that benefits their families, their community, and the businesses we work with.

Members pay an annual fee, hold a regularly scheduled job, and are allowed daily shopping privileges. We simply  ask that people “take what they need, and need what they take.” In addition to a grocery section, members can shop from a thrift room containing clothing and other household items and a book corner. All of our food and goods are donated, which is why our members are prohibited from selling or otherwise using anything we receive for monetary gain.

Nothing goes to waste! Excess food and goods are donated to other non-profits. In times of great abundance, members are encouraged to share with friends and family. Food not fit for human consumption is provided to local pig farmers or composted.

Everyone is welcome to join. There are no income requirements or residency restrictions. Our goal is to help our members achieve self-sufficiency and to work together to close the loop on food waste.

Our efforts of Nothing Goes to Waste supports our current membership of 40+ member families and our surrounding community.

Our surrounding community includes:

  • Women’s Shelters

  • Senior Centers

  • Churches

  • Pig Farmers

  • Hungry Hearts

  • Low-income Housing

  • Other Not For Profit Organizations

Reducing waste, while helping others and our families.
It's a win-win for everyone involved!
